My involvement in local Republican politics has always been about more than attending meetings or putting a name on a membership list.
For me, grassroots political involvement is about showing up, learning how local government and elections actually work, building relationships with people throughout the community, supporting candidates and causes I believe in, and helping more citizens understand how they can participate.
My work with the Pinellas GOP has given me the opportunity to do that alongside business owners, elected officials, volunteers, precinct leaders, Republican clubs, candidates, and community members from across Pinellas County.
National politics gets most of the attention, but local involvement is where many of the relationships and conversations that shape a community actually begin.
The Pinellas GOP describes its grassroots structure as a network of precinct committeemen and committeewomen working throughout the county. These members attend local meetings, organize within their communities, support Republican candidates, and help connect the party with voters and neighborhoods across Pinellas County.
That local structure matters because Pinellas County is made up of many very different communities, each with its own businesses, families, priorities, and concerns.
Pinellas County is where I live, work, raise my family, build businesses, volunteer, and serve through multiple community organizations.
That makes local political involvement personal. Decisions about transportation, public safety, economic development, tourism, small business, education, taxes, infrastructure, and local government affect the same communities where my family and businesses spend every day.
Being involved gives me a better understanding of those issues and allows me to help connect people who might otherwise never meet one another.
My involvement has included service as a precinct-level Republican participant and involvement with the Pinellas GOP community. I have also worked with Republican clubs, candidates, elected officials, volunteers, and grassroots organizers throughout the county.

The Pinellas GOP currently recognizes Real Florida Republicans Club of Pinellas County among its Republican clubs and identifies Larry Bell as President of the club. That relationship gives people another path to become informed, meet candidates and elected officials, participate in local events, and become more engaged in the political process.

One of the things I value most in political and civic involvement is access.
People should have opportunities to meet the individuals asking for their vote, ask questions directly, hear different perspectives, understand what local offices actually do, and learn how decisions affect their communities.
That is why many of the events and activities I support focus on bringing elected officials, candidates, veterans, business leaders, and residents into the same room. The goal is not simply to create another political event. It is to make participation more personal and more informed.

I am a business owner, consultant, father, musician, community volunteer, Rotary leader, chamber board member, business-association president, coach, and longtime technology professional.

You do not have to hold office to have an impact on your community. You do have to participate.
